i have an asus p8z68-v-lx motherboard been using my keyboard and mouse on the 2 usb 3.0 ports for a few months now with no troubles turn on my pc this morning and their not working had to plug them in the standard usb ports any ideas what it could be?

Try uninstalling the USB3 device/drivers in windows.
Then restart and and let windows find the device again and 'hopefully' it will start working again.
If that fails or even if it doesn't fail - look for updated drivers on the Asus website.
If you're still having problems the consoder a CMOS reset (be sure to save your clocked profile) or the latest BIOS (you will lose you saved profile - so make notes of your settings)
