is there any reason to have usb 3.0 if i dont have any usb 3.0 devices?

does it actually provide any benefit to a usb 2.0 device? i suspect not.

the reason i ask is that one of my front bay devices that has usb 3.0 connections is kaput and i cant see the point of replacing it with another usb 3.0 capable device if i dont have a device that can utilize the faster speed.

my mobo supports usb 3.0 and has it on the rear connections so if i needed it then its there.

Its justr like any other upgrade. Its there to make use of for when you need it.

I have a couple of boards that have USB 3 now and so for a laugh, I bought a USB Flash Drive to see WFT its about and sure its bloody quick.

I also have 4 of those Seagate GoFlex 2TB Drives, and so I bought a USB 3 base for one.

I am NOT going to bother for the other 3 as they are mainly for storage, but the one thats used all the time, sure, its useful for that.

Other than that, USB 3 at this moment, is mostly pointless.
