Has anybody else had an issue with the Oculus app saying you are not plugged into a USB 2.0 when you are plugged into a 3.1 USB.

I have a ROG Asus B450f motherboard.

It was working fine until last night when it stated I wasnt plugged into a USB 3 port...I hadn't even unplugged anything!!

I have now tried turning the Oculus link cable, plugging it into a USB 3 adaptor, different USB slots, restarting the PC, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, restarting the headset... I am at a loss.

Thanks

I've had a hell of a hassle with this. It has ended in my Quest requiring an RMA. But there are so many things you can try:
Different ports
Different cables
Different drivers
USB power settings
Factory reset of Quest

To be fair to Oculus support, they were very helpful with me and gave plenty of debugging steps. So if you can't get it to work yourself it might be worth getting in touch with them.

Are you using the official cable or a 3rd party? The crazy expensive official cable is said to be more reliable. I had it once, even with the official cable, but rebooting the headset sorted it.

I have purchased a 3rd party cable from amazon for 9.99 and it has works great, recognised the USB3 straight away

The official link cable must be faulty. I cannot see any damage to it at all, I've only has it for 9 days.

Given how pricey they are, I'm sure you can take it back and exchange it for another.

I've had USB issues with both of the Rift S I've owned, it must be an Oculus thing. I thought they'd have sorted it by now, but I've just had to reinstall Windows to get my newly purchased second one to work.

so the problem you were having was with the official cable ?

if you bought a £10 cable from amazon, and it works great, get a refund on the official one! and save yourself £60 or what ever
