i have a utgard case is it possible to mod the front panel remove 1 of usb 2.0 ports and replace with a usb 3.0 port,is this a possible task ,i assume i would need a usb 3.0 lead ,

Can't see why not, it would require you to buy a front panel connector with USB3 and to do some cutting, but shouldn't be too hard should it

aslong as your motehrboard as a usb3.0 header or a usb3 port, nothing stoping you.
or even more easily, jsut buy a usb3.0 lead, and put the other end the port.

As said above as long as your motherboard can support it you could essentially put it where you like.
