Hi All,

My sons new build has been having BSODs today.
I have had this running for a few hours prior with no problems then today after actually gifting it BAM ! (sods law)
First off about 2mins after start up the pc was shutting down...I removed the keyboard and mouse from the front USB 3.0 headers ( I let him set it up and he decided to plug them in there ? ) and used USB 2.0 on the back panel.
All was ok until later on, getting random BSODs - noticed he now has his Turtle Beach headset plugged into the front panel USB 3.0.

I have just plugged them into the rear panel also and await the results.
At this point I should mention that he was getting a lot of interference noise through the headset ( he told me afterwards ).

I have recently installed a ASUS 6670 1GB DDR3 GPU and will be removing it
if more troubleshooting is required.
It currently sits in the PCI x16 slot - would changing it to the PCI express x4 slot help as it's an older card ?

Also - Smart Doctor runs on startup (can't turn it off) and doesn't recognise the GPU although I installed it from the disk that came with the GPU.

If anyone like to chime in with some advice it would be greatly appreciated !

A10 6800K (no OC)
Gigabyte F2A88XM-D3H (Bios F1)
Avexir core gold 2 x 4GB @ 2133 (set XMP)
Corsair CX500 80+ Bronze PSU
Xigmatec Alfar case
Windows 7 pro (64 bit) .

The instructions state to turn the IGP to >FORCE< in the BIOS GFX settings.
I have allocated 1GB memory although I have the option to allocate 2GB...how does that work then if the card is only 1GB ?
The other settings in the BIOS - GFX relate to NB and SB and I have't changed these.

FYI
its been running all day today with no problems after not using the USB 3.0 ports.
I have downloaded the newer (F4) BIOS but not installed it yet.
I will also download the chipset drivers and try that.

Funny thing, my lad said his keyboard was lit up like an xmas tree during the night with the power OFF. The mobo in question has an on/off charge utility but I dont think its set to ON. ???

Also, it's taking ages to turn off ?
I ran Glary Utilities 1 click maintenance yesterday after the same problem which I thought had fixed it but apparently not.
The HDD light isn't flickering at all but the power light is staying on and the fans are running.
