I have a segate 1TB usb 3.0 external drive. I regularly run a batch script that backs up all my important stuff and photos acroos 2 internal hd's, the seagte and then some stuff (not photos) is put on a usb.
Unfortunately the segate is full. I have written a script to delete photos across my backups (should have done this before backing them up really) based on placing images to be delete in a folder. I'm getting there but the drive will still be nearly full even when I've completed this.
I've recently pre-orderd a galaxy s10+ which I believe can connect to my pc via usb3.1 type c.
It seems it would be a good time to upgrade my external hd to a usb 3.1 drive and fit a usb 3.1 card to my pc.
I've seen some cards that have usb type c, usb type a or a mixture. I don't really know what to go for.
Can anyone help me with suggestions for a pci 3.1 card and an external hd?
