usb 3 header help

im running out of headers on my mother board was considering getting a spilter to turn the last usb 3 header into 2 headers then get a converter to change both of them to usb 2 to use on my corsair link command kit and the other 2 inputs on the front of my case is this safe or will it over load the original header go easy on me this is my first pc build

how many header have you got and what do you have plugged in.
What motherboard do you have.
Might be easier to buy a pcie usb port/s or a powered hub.

i have a rampage v and got the only got the usb ports on my 900d plugged in but the board only has 1 usb 2.0 and 2 usb 3.0 headers but i want to have the corsair link plugged in along with the other 2 usb 2.0 on the case

Sorry, I bought the last one of the current stock the other day...and it did the trick for me, i.e. supplied me with more USB 2.0 connections to supply my Saitek X52 Pro.

Be aware though, this one is a PCI card...not a PciE!!!
