My motherboard only has one USB 3 header on the motherboard and I would like to add the Silverstone USB 3.0 Front Panel however it has two USB 3 header cables, if I use this USB 2 header to USB 3 header cable will it work?

Yes, as long as you have the spare usb 2.0 header for it. But bear in mind that it will work at usb 2.0 speeds, not 3.0 speeds.

You could get a USB3 pcix card with an internal usb3 header to connect up :)
Can`t see any in the shop at this time however

Yes, have done this, it works as already said at 2.0 speed.

USB 3.0 splitter cables do exist if you search for them but I never found any cheap enough to make me buy over just using 2.0 header.

Search for Inateck PCI-E USB3 card. If you've got a spare PCI-E connector, at least you can make use of the faster USB3 speeds.
