USB 3 issues when installing/running programs

Hey guys,

I've been having some issues recently with my USB devices when installing programs, or sometimes when a program launches for the 1st time.

My USB sound device will start cutting out, my mouse will lag a lot, and my keyboard becomes unresponsive. Can anyone think of what might cause this issue? I have disabled the ability for the PC to put USB devices into power save mode (was causing some device issues).

PC spec is in sig.

Plugged directly into the motherboard or a USB header on the case?

The keyboard and sound device are plugged directly into the motherboard. The mouse is connected to a self powered USB hub which is connected directly to the motherboard.
