Hi all, havnt got a clue when it comes to anything Apple so hope someone can help me out.

I have a customer who has the latest Ipad, he has a Smart bicycle trainer that works best over ANT+.

What does he need to buy so that he can plug in his ANT+ USB dongle into his ipad? this receiver both sends and receives data if that makes any difference?

Thanks

You can use an ANT+ to Bluetooth bridge https://kb.zwiftriders.com/connect-ant-to-zios

All the devices connect via ANT+ to the bridge then you pair the bridge via Bluetooth to the ipad. It works but still better to use a Bluetooth equipped trainer if possible. What trainer is it ?
All the trainers we sell are Bluetooth compatible ( in this case its the tacx Flux ) the Bluetooth connectivity is very intermittent on all brands from many peoples experience, we offer Tacx, Elite and Wahoo and they are all the same. We recommend ANT connectivity to all our customers for this very reason.

I have now found the solution which is to use the Wahoo 30 pin ANT dongle we stock and buy the apple 30 pin to usb c adaptor to convert.

Thanks all

Latest version of iOS causes problems with the Wahoo dongle. https://thesufferfest.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/212904403-Connecting-ANT-Devices

Has he tried it with Bluetooth before buying adaptors, I have a TACX Neo and it has less lag in Zwift via Bluetooth compared to ANT+ (even with the ANT+ adaptor on a USB extension sitting right under the trainer)

I normally use a PC but I have just tried it on an iPad Pro via Bluetooth and it connects and works without any issues or drop outs (admittedly a short test). Graphics performance seemed good its not got the higher detail of the PC version but close.
