USB and PCI wireless solutions equal?

I am about to purchase another wireless modem router and have plugged for the Belkin N1...

Now my dilema is this...

Do USB access points offer the same performance as PCI card access points...

This is relevant to my existing network which has the Belkin 8630 pre-N modem router and a Belkin Pre-N PCI Card upstairs, but also to the newer N1 stuff, of which the PCI card for that has three antannae on a lead that runs several feet from the PCI card...

Belkin state that both their N1 USB and PCI offer tha same perfromance as each other, but I just can't see it, why would people buy a PCI card with three antannae on a cable making the place untidy, when they could get the USB version which is very tidy indeed...unless the PCI solution is better?

Opinions please...

Well a USB dongle can be moved around on the end of the cable that it plugs into. The aerials on the PCI card allow flexibility in where they're placed.

The performance is mainly due to the position of the 'pickup point', so that's probably why Belkin state equal performance, as both allow the aerial to be moved to the best position.

Personally I would go for the USB version ;)
