Hi,

I know this has been posted before, but my circumstances are slightly different.

I have just completed a brand new build, based around an Asus P8P67-M Pro (Rev 3) in a Silverstone SG04-F case, which I powered up for the first time today, with nothing connected other than a monitor and a Logitech USB wireless mouse/keyboard transmitter.

I was immediately presented with a message saying "USB device over current status detected" and that the system would shut down in 15 seconds... which it did!

Having googled this particular message, a variety of solutions have been suggested, ranging from replacing the motherboard, slackening off the mobo screws, checking for damaged USB sockets etc... and plenty of others which do not even appear to be USB related.

I will add here that I am a fairly experienced system builder, and haven't left an unused stand-off in place, or a screw rolling around inside, or anything like that, but this is certainly a problem I could do without!

All internal components are brand new and high quality products, such as a Silverstone 600w power supply, EVGA460 graphics card, Intel 2500K CPU etc.

Has anyone else ever received a similar message on a brand new build please, and if so how did they manage to resolve it?

Thanks! :)
