I have a bluetooth keyboard which I would like to use with multiple machines through a KVM. It only supports a single device. I am aware that simply using a bluetooth USB adapter in the KVM will not work, because the keyboard sets up a connection to the host machine itself. So the KVM won't allow it to switch.
I believe that a very small number of USB bluetooth adapters have a HID proxy. Essentially this causes the bluetooth device to create a host connection with the USB adapter directly. So in theory the USB bluetooth adapter would then work in the KVM and the connection would move with the selected machine.
I have found the Laird BT820 which appears to have a HID proxy. Are there any other USB bluetooth adapters out there, with HID proxy, that I should be considering? Yes I appreciate there are alternate keyboards out there but I quite like the feel of this one.
Thanks.
