Hi all
I've got a 'smart' TV which turns out doesn't have Bluetooth built in
It does however support a gamepad plugged in via USB which is what I'm using fine, however I was trying to see if a Bluetooth dongle exists that doesn't need the TV software to handle the pairing function i.e. can it handle its own pairing to the controller and the TV see it as a wired device effectively?

I've been googling away but haven't come across anything other than the usual BT dongles.

Thanks!

Some gamepads come with 2.4Ghz USB dongles, you could try one of those?
I'd have thought this would be the better option. I dont think I've ever come across a device that does what you suggest. It would essentialy have to be paird at the factory otherwise you would need a "something" to handle the pairing in some way.

The latest Xbox controllers have Bluetooth built in,and the Dualshock 4 also has it. I doubt a Bluetooth dongle would work but you can always try. What TV is it?

Thanks all. I somehow stumbled upon 8BitDo Bluetooth adapters which mimic the controller into the usb port and it has worked flawlessly!
This was for a Samsung TV.

Would this work with a bluetooth keyboard to allow access to the bios ?
I’m not sure, their website seems clear it’s only for controllers to connect to, however it’s not supposed to work with a TV and it does! Unfortunately I don’t have a Bluetooth controller to test it with.
