Hi, not sure if this is the right place for this.

I've got an old windows 7 code which I'm trying to use to create a bootable USB for my new PC. Whenever the tool finishes copying the iso file, it says that the transfer is complete but that the usb couldn't be made bootable with no other error message.

Has anyone else had this problem/knows any potential fixes?

But then how are you making the bootable USB? Does the downloader offer to make a bootable USB as well?

I personally use Rufus to make the bootable USB using the ISO downloaded from the Microsoft site: https://rufus.akeo.ie/

Yer the tool is meant to make it bootable.

As Orcvader said try Rufus, I've used that a few times when the windows tool hasn't worked.

I’ve just made a bootable usb from MacBook for my new pc.
All I did was download the iso file from windows, open it and there’s should be about 6 files in there. Then simply drag and drop into usb.
That worked for me
