USB C 24" or 27" Monitor Recommendations Please

I'm looking for a USB C monitor for simple plug in of a Laptop with the idea of everything else plugging into the monitor. Firstly is this possible has anyone tried it and had it work?

The laptop in question is a Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 2.

I assume a 1080p monitor would be the best match so as to have the laptop act simply as a secondary screen at the same res.

Nah, 27” 1440p is what you want. Not sure on budget but this can be had for £316.
