Hi,
I have a USB-C - Ethernet adapter that is cloning the MAC address of an unmanaged switch. To do it, I simply plug an Ethernet cable into the adapter; the USB end isn't even plugged in to any device. I can then ping the IP address assigned and get a response. Unplugging the adapter, it still pings as its obviously pinging the switch, however an unmanaged switch obviously shouldn't have an IP address.
This to me seems very strange or is this normal behaviour? The device is called "uni".
If it is normal, would this have any negative effect on the network?
