Hi all,

I came into a problem yesterday with my PC (posted on forums and its sorted) where when my USB C front panel connector is plugged in it stops all power to the PC completely. Ive looked online and my motherboard (ASUS X570-F Gaming) has a connector for USB 3.2 Gen 2, but from what I can see online the case (Corsair 4000D AIRFLOW) has a 3.1 Type C port.

Would this be the cause of the PC not receiving power or would it be the motherboard/ front panel board itself?

Cheers for reading.

3.2 vs 3.1 shouldn't matter at all
this smells like a short. Either the cable or case port is damaged and motherboard detects it
I thought it might be the port, I might see about if I can get a whole replacement front panel setup for my case from Corsair as id rather not rebuild my pc again as I did it a couple weeks ago into this 4000D

My first ever PC build didn't boot cause of a case USB 2 header. Exactly the same symptoms as yourself.

Talk to Corsair or the retailer about a replacement from panel rather than a whole new case.
Yeah ive sent a ticket into Corsair to see what they say, maybe not expecting much this close to Christmas but best to get the ticket in. Fingers crossed they just send me the front panel cause I dont feel like building into a whole different case :D
