Hi All

I have a Dell XPS incoming, so i need a USB-C (or thunderbolt 3) dock or a hub to connect it all up. requirements as follows:

HDMI - 1440p at 60Hz - displayport is ok too.
Ethernet
Some USBs

Power delivery would be nice, then its just one cable to the pc.

There is a million to choose from. any recommendations? or ones to avoid?

Thanks

At work we have a selection, some very sleek HP ones and some very generic/clunky ones. They all seem to work fine TBF.

The main choice would probably be an upright one vs a weighted flat one. The HP ones are very nice and slim so tuck nicely under stuff.

Edit: all the ones we have do power delivery. Look for a 19/20V supply rather than 12V or 5V, that's how you'll know.

thanks for that.

Looking about, it appears there are some that come with there own PSU, which then send power out to the laptop via the USB-C. these tend to be called 'Docks'.
Then there are some that 'pass through' the power from the Laptop PSU, so have a USB-C 'with power delivery' where you'd plug the laptop charger, then usually a wired USB-C output, plus a variety of other ports.
Then some without the power delivery, just just like a standard usb hub.

Its good to hear they all seem to work. There has been some group tests done, on youtube for example, that suggests they arent all created equal. A lot of them a chinese brands, which is fine, but they do tend to change these things about a lot, so its not always easy to know you are looking at the same one that was in the review.

If seen a few options that should work for me.
