USB Cable Broke

For some reason my USB cables end up wobbling about on my Nexus 7. I now got to put pressure on the cable to make it charge. I thought it was the port but I tried some other cables and they fit as snug as a bug in a rug. 2 have gone like this.

Anyone had this happen? Can I fix the cable?

Is this a microUSB cable?

If you look closely there's two small tabs that can become damaged/broken and they're what keeps the cable in firmly

Ahh they've been pushed in a bit much. Any tip on how to bend them out?

Wouldn't know how, I usually just buy a new one off of Amazon, maybe try the misses' tweezers?

Use the end of a needle, stick it in from the front (bit that would go into the usb port) under the tab and gently raise it a bit, then use some compressed air or a good blow to clean out the port on the Nexus as well, should be good as new.
