Hi Guys,
I want to add 3 or 4 fans to the outside of a mini case to improve airflow and hopefully perfomance. Trouble is that the is only one fan connector inside. Im thinking that I could use the USB ports to power them.
Anyone had a go at this or know of any adapters I can use?
Cheers
Paul

USB supplies 5v so unless you get some sort of adapter/transformer, it won't be enough to spin the fans, typically, fan controllers go between 7.5V and 12V so at 5V I'd say you won't have enough voltage.

But why not use a molex to power them? Or do you mean outside-outside the case, not attached to the side/front etc. You could probably feed a molex out the back, through a spare expansion slot, it might look a bit messy but then so would USB fans.
