USB DAB Tuner

i think pc based DaB is pretty much dead, i have an old wavefinder and modular tech pci dab card and never use them anymore, xp sp2 killed off usb based dab.

better off buying a dab radio with recording to SD card capabilites.

Isn't the quality of internet radio supposed to be better than DAB? So I don't really see the value of a DAB tuner on a PC.

yes MP2 is worse quality than MP3 at the same bitrate, so if listening to a 128k mp3 net stream will beat nearly all current UK Dab.

though bandwidth wise it mounts up if listening to a regular program each month

EDIT.
for old times sake just tried the wavefinder in vmware (as i have vista x64, though the wavefinder should work ok in vista x86) and it still works ok, though bbc reception still rubbish with a portable aerial.

Digital tv cards/usb sticks can pick digital radio up, though i never use that feature.

Most will pick up DVB-A, not DAB. DVB-A is radio station as a channel on digital TV. These are NOT DAB. They are simply a DVB (Digital TV) signal with no picture. Actually, some have started to put pictures on them now. Its rare to find a DVB card that will pick up DAB too...

But back on topic, Internet Radio > DAB
