It doesn't show up in 'My Computer'...Some computers work fine, some are not (especially laptops!) yet they're all using XP SP2...I'm not sure why but it is driving me crazy!

I have set it to drive letter G or whatsoever in disk management tool and I can access it in explorer by typing G:/ in address bar but it still doesn't show up in My Computer?!

Do a search on google for 'Hidden Hardware for device Manager' I think its a registry key you need to change.

Chances are, it thinks the keys already installed.

If the drive appears in disk manager, and can be accessed by manually typing the address, what are you trying to achieve by making it (re)appear in Device Manager, especially when it already exists?

barnettgs, I assume that as you've manually assigned it a drive letter that you don't have any network drives being mapped to the same letter? Have you tried a different letter (a bug with XP is that if a network drive has the next 'available' drive letter, when you plug in an addition drive it gets given that same letter)? At the worst case you should be able to manually create a shortcut and place it on the desktop or quick launch to save you typing it in manually.
