Hi,
I have a USB 1GB Flash Stick which work supplied for us to move our files from one office to another, and of course so we can work at home in our own time to get work done, how nice of them !

Any way, I left the said USB Flash stick in my Dell Ultra Sharpe 24'' Monitor USB slot when I shut down and then the following day i booted the PC up. Only to discover the USB Flash Stick was still in the monitor USB port and was not not working !

I have tried the USB stick in a few other PC's and it just does not even power up, so does not even apear in Windows explorer !

any ideas on how i can rescue the data please ?

many thanks

T

buy a new flash drive and copy your backup onto the new drive? If the flash drive is dead, I don't think the data on it is coming back.

Well I doubt you didn't backup your pen drive as anyone who doesn't backup such a small device is plain stupid. I guess the best idea is to buy another pen drive and copy your files back onto it.

Well of course i did not do a back up !
i normally do back up at the end of the week and this happened mid week before my scheduled back Up, typical ! ! !
Problem is i can not access the Pen Drive !

Well im guessing your not saving directly to the usb drive so you will have local copies on your home/work machine.

I guess theres a moral lesson in this story.. but not so much solution to backup your stuff from your dead stick I'm afraid.

gary's solution is the only option.
