USB Floppy

I think 'why do you need one?' is a fairly valid question.
I certainly haven't used one for a number of years and i cannot imagine why you would need one.

In answer to your question, i'm almost certain they will work driverless as an external storage medium, if not xp is bound to have standard drivers for it.

I am thinking of buyihng a usb floopy soon, only so I can set up RAID easily on my next rig and ones in the future also ( of course this has nothing to do with XP per se but you know what I mean)

I've an Iomega one and it works perfectly. People who say that USB floppy drives are not useful confuse me. What easier way is there to do things like flashing a BIOS on a motherboard or video card, or installing a boot loader, or installing SATA or RAID drivers? Going through the hassle of using a 3rd party bit of software to make a boot CD is a waste of time IMHO.

Billy to be fair there are actually bios flashing progs that work well within windows - maybe I have been lucky in that one has never failed on me, but I have no reason to believe why this wouldnt be true of others too.

But USB floppy are certainly very useful without doubt

I just wish a USB key could be used instead, such a relatively simple thing for Windows setup to see this as a drive yet you never get given the choice
