I have two cables that have the following connections for accessing the motherboards USB ports on the top of my Thermaltake Armor case they (connectors coming from top of case) are laid out like this:

1 SHIELD
2 GND
3 DATA+
4 DATA-
5 VCC
The motherboard has 3 (10 pinned) sockets like this:

1 Power
2 Power
3 USB DX-
4 USB Dy-
5 USB DX+
6 USB Dy+
7 GND
8 GND
9 No Pin
10 NC
..and one (5 pinned) socket like this:

1 Power
2 USB DX-
3 USB DX+
4 No Pin
5 GND
QUESTION: How should I connect the cables to the mother board given that I have two USB sockets on the top of my case (I understand that the connectors I have will/may need the wires rearranged or removed to work)?

Have an idea but need clarification.. don't wanna kill any part of my motherboard :D

If you lay out the 10 pin connector like this:

1 Power 2 Power
3 USB DX- 4 USB Dy-
5 USB DX+ 6 USB Dy+
7 GND 8 GND
9 No Pin 10 NC

it becomes a little easier to understand what you need to do.
Spin the 5 pin socket around and it becomes:

5 VCC
4 DATA-
3 DATA+
2 GND
1 SHIELD

and this pretty much matches the 1 side of the 10 pin socket (except the shield which is not connected).

The manual already tells you how to pair the two 5-pin connectors.
Page 20 - the last column of the USB2.0 table shows you where the USB1 connector and USB2 connector goes. The second and third column tells you what to match...

Thanks PistolPete - for some crazed reason I had in my mind the rows of pins were 1 - 20 and 21 - 40.. also wasn't positive that DATA- = USB DX-.

Nanobot I take it you refer to the manual that came with the case, I don't have it.. page 20 of the manual for the motherboard is nothing to do with USB - thanks though.
