I got myself a game pad to play GTA3, Vice city and SA on my pc but for some strange reason i cant get it to work with any of them, even in the control menu its not being detected, the pad works fine in games such as NFSMW, any ideas?

Yeah - play with the keyboard :)

It is not a game that requires precision driving so just sticky with keys. Much quicker when you bail from your car and need to switch to shooting :) (Mouse & Keyboard)

WASD for driving
Space or RMB for handbrake - winnar :>

I have tried playing with the keyboard and just cant get used to it after playing GTA3 on the PS2 since its release, thats why i got a game pad, its just frustrating when the games are supposed to support them :(

What pad is it you have specifically - it may be incompatable?

Failing that if you like the PS2 pad (eugh :p) you could always buy a PS2->USB adapter :)

hmm mine detects fine in GTA:SA (Saitek P2500). Might be a compatibility issue with your controller? (Dont' see why it would be, but you never know) What controller is it?

At any rate I found it a lot easier to play SA with the k/b (and mouse) .Play other racing games with the controller tho.

Have you gone into the controlls sections and changed "keyboard and mouse" to "joypad"?

You then have to configure the control's buttons to the approrpiate actions manually. I'm using an Xbox 360 controll and it's fine.

Yup done that, the buttons just do not respond.
