Usb hard drive problem.

Im trying to run my usb hard drive in off the usb port on my cd player but i dont think its getting enough power.
Is there anyway i can boost the power going to the hd? bearing in mind i want to use this in the car.

When you say CD player do you mean headunit in your car?

If it has more than one usb port you can get dual usb cables that combine the power from two ports into a single connector but i'm guessing this is unlikely. You might have to look on specialist ICE forums for help on hacking/modding a more powerful 5v line within the headunit.

Edit: is your usb hdd 2.5" or 3.5"?
