USB Headphones and X-Fi

Hi,

This is probably a dumb question but will 5.1 USB headphones still benefit from the x-Fi cards or do they need to plug in directly to the card to get the most benefit?

Headphones: Point Of View USB 5.1 headphones (http://www.pointofview-online.com/default2.asp?content_id=164)

Yes it's a dumb question.

No point getting 5.1 headphones. The x-fi can simulate 5.1 surround with normal headphones excellently.

usb phones have their own sound chip thingy on board, so i can't see how they would benefit from xfi

Thanks for the responses, pretty much what I was fearing.

Now, if only I had thought about buying the x-fi _before_ buying my 'phones.

Ive just gotten rid of my Majestic USB headset and replaced it with an X-FI OEM and Medusa 5.1. FAR superior in every way. Wish id never bought the USB ones, but then, i was using them to game on my lappy at the time.
