USB Help Please

So i woke up today turn computer on and my keyboard wasent working
so i took it out nd plugged it on a USB on the top of my tower then i went on skype and my mic wasent working via usb so i had to put that on the top of my tower it seems as if all my usb ports at the back have stopped working :S they were working fine last night and i have all drivers and everything up to date so i dont understand why they have stopped working
 
I once had a similar problem and it magically worked for some reason after many reboots. Have you tried clearing Cmos and what is your motherboard?
 
My initial guess would be that depending on what keyboard/microphone you are using they might not be able to share the same USB channels depending on their power requirements.

However, as Smoogles has pointed out, unless it fixes itself after a while then this could be one of the first signs of your motherboard giving up.

What motherboard have you got and are you running any overclocks etc, how long have you had it?
 
Hopefully it will fix itself, maybe have a look at the USB settings in BIOS. And also try unplugging any other peripherals and rebooting and seeing if it makes any difference.
 
Well it shouldent be my motherboard as i spent so much on my gaming rig and had it since Feb 2013 so not evan 1 year old and the motherboard im using is...

It was the same motherboard as mine when I had the problem:) Although, it was not some permanent problem in my case.

Do your USBs work in BIOs and what happened when you cleared CMOS?
