My laptop has s TB3 port which has been fine until recently and it's been starting to fail, initially I hoped it might be software related but the issue is still evident after a reinstallation of Windows.
Symptoms are:
- When connecting TB external SSD, file copying immediately fails saying unexpected error has occurred - this used to be fine.
- When connected via standard type C connector it copies but maxes out at 40MB/s not the expected 300+
- The type C hub doesn't work at all anymore, there is a flickering light from the ethernet port (on the hub) but it doesn't power any drives
So my thoughts are somewhere along the lines the TB3 port isn't delivering the right levels of power...
Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Is there a way to test port power output?
