I have just build a pc, p67-gd65 MOUTHERBOARD 650watt PSU ect ect this may sound extremely silly i put a USB into my new build to transfer the latest drivers onto my unit and in terms it fried my USB... i remove it was boiling hot (usb case) and know not responding in any units!? any thoughs?:confused::confused:

Sounds fried to me.

Sounds like your motherboard shorted it out. Try another (OLD) USB stick. If that's ok then it could have just been that drive that was faulty.

LOL god NO!

The 8 pin has nothing to do with it!

Try contacting your motherboard manufacturer and do an RMA, or wherever you bought the board from (if under a year old).
