Hi guys, right ive just spent all day finding a fault with my mates motherboard but now we need some advice.
Ok the problem was, whilst fitting his graphics card he scratched the audio lane in 2 places right over it and it was quite deep. So whilst pc was on it was causing random lock ups. All the hardware has been properly tested and everything passed. So we knew that was the problem. Now after messing about all day finally i decided it was time to disable his onboard sound so it didnt use that and add a soundcard. So i had a 7.1 soundcard ( non usb ) i put that in, turn his onboard off and its fixed the freezing.
Now the problem he will have is, he only has a G35 headset which is USB. And on the soundcard theres is only jacks. Now it was fine for me as my headset isnt usb. I was wondering is there some kind of adaptor to plug the usb headset in and then the jacks into the card? or will he be best to buy a usb soundcard / jack headset.
Thanks for advice guys
