USB keyboard dilema ...hmmm

For some reason, my 1 week old Logitech Illuminated keyboard and MX1100 mouse have decided to only work once the OS kicks in. For a moment there I suspected the USB ports on my Biostar X58 motherboard but strangely enough my old wireless USB logitech keyboard works fine and I can access the BIOS as per normal.

Anyone experienced something similar in the past or care to provide an educated guess as to what the score is.

Its likely to do with one of your USB settings in your bios. The first thing that comes to mind is enabling Legacy USB support?

First thing I checked Killari , I also tried changing the speed of the USB ports but no luck.

have you looked in setpoint?, i had a similar issue and it was because i had changed some of the functions of the fn keys in setpoint.

Nah setpoint didn't make a difference. Tried everything I can think of ,loaded the default values in the BIOS tried all the USB ports on the motherboard, booted with a minimal hardware setup and even booted up with all the components running outside of the case. Nothing seems to make a difference.
I could contact Logitech for support but I guarantee they'll probably say it was a motherboard issue. ><
