Hey guys,

Not sure if I am being completely dumb (I probably am :p) but I have got a USB DVI KVM 2 port switch, and for some reason I cannot get it to work - I'm sure I am doing something totally wrong but cant work out what

So KVM is powered on and I have in the DVI Out port the DVI cable from my monitor into the port and also the mouse and keyboard, mouse and keyboard work fine but the display doesn't show anything, I have checked it's on DVI / Digital setting on the screen. USB cables are connected.

I have plugged the cable from the screen again directly to the PC and it works ok, but going thruogh the KVM it doesnt show anything, Is the DVI cable supposed to go elsewhere? (only place it can go is in one of the DVI in ports?) :o

Thanks! :)

Try setting the resolotion on the pc and the monitor to 1920 * 1200P@60Hz

I don't have that specific resolution to choose but tried various other resolutions to no avail.

It should be straight forward as you say, but I cannot see whats stopping it from displaying. It is the same for both computers that's connected to it.

I'm stumped :(

Try 1920 x 1080 60hz as long as the monitor supports that resolution .l, if that don't work it seems it mite be a faulty switch.

Check all the cables work.

My screen res is 1920x1060 60hz as default

All cables work, tried USB, DVI cables individually, its wierd the mouse and keyboard work fine through the KVM, but the DVI slots in PC1 and PC2 nothing displays on the screen.

The computer/screen has been working fine, but now I have a 2nd PC I am trying to make switching between the 2 easy. But proving not to be.

Send it back If you've tried everything.

I have kinda managed to get it working, I have attached a HDMI cable to the other PC, and a DVI cable still in the main. My monitor can switch between HDMI and DVI - The KVM has the USB keyboard and mouse connected fine, I mean it works and is essentially pressing a button on the monitor instead of on the KVM, then just press PC1 and PC2 as and when I need.

Thanks for you help mate :)
