As per the title, I have a USB2 memory card reader that worked perfectly in my last install of Vista, but won't now, simply asking for a driver CD when I plug it in. What gives? Why is Windows Vista so utterly inconsistant? How can I get it to work (since I *KNOW* for a fact it does, since it has done)? There are obviously no specific drivers for the device, because it is just supposed to work within the OS.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Michael.

I know it sounds sill but try changing (temporarily just too see!!) the USB from 2.0 to 1.1 in the BIOS and re-connect it!!...

I had this with a Creative Muvo... suposed to be USB 2.0 but only seems to work on a USB 1.1 socket!!

This problem has been fixed by MS in one of their Vista updates, so it's not that.
