Hi,

Recently bought a Sennheiser G4me One headset since I was looking for something decent to use for gaming and teamspeak/audio chat. Bought one elsewhere in white - and now just noticed OCUK have black ones on preorder - typical! :D

Anyhow - having some issues with the mic and my sound card, an asus xonar d2x. Otherwise a good quality sound card - but I can either get a nice clear but very quiet signal, or if I enable mic boost I get a lot of interference/noise on the mic input. Apparently a common issue according to various searches with no obvious fix?

So on TS people can either hardly hear me or get battered with noise. A waste of a decent mic! :(

Not had too much luck with on board audio either.

I have got a couple of USB sound card devices, which work well - so was wondering, does anybody know of any relatively cheap and simple USB capture (ADC) devices for mics? Or alternatively a pre amp to boost the mic to line level input.. erm... levels?

Thanks.

Well, went and bought a behringer xenyx302USB. It's a usb 2 channel mixer & sound card, with headset connections and mic input.

Works well for the price I paid for it, and has a 2 channel equaliser and balance on the mic and usb audio input two. Can get a bit of hiss if you turn the gain up on the mic too much, but at least it's not a load of feedback or whistling. :)
