I've been tidying up and came across my old Roland MT32 and thought wouldn't it be fun to see if it still works ;)

Been looking at these cheap USB-Midi interface cables but there seem to be all sorts of people having problems with these not working in Win7 64bit and that's before you hear of the the problems with System Exclusive messages.

Does anyone play with MIDI stuff in Win7 64bit these days and have a working and reliable solution?

TIA

I can't speak for Win7, but I had no problems using an Alesis midi-usb cable with an old Ensoniq VFX-SD in XP.

Sorry, that doesn't really answer your question...

Sure. MIDI port in my Delta 2496 soundcard :)

I've tried this USB-MIDI interface, too - but most of those el-cheapo stuff sold on Ebay is intended to be binned without any checkout. "Quality", sir ;-) So all I've found out is to buy - if you still want USB-MIDI adaptor - not that cheap device Made in China, but more expensive, but reliable in some store.

Thanks, really wanted a USB solution to use with a laptop but I see M-Audio also do some and have drivers for Win7 64 bit.
