USB mouse

Have just bought a technika mouse ( I know cheap crud)

and I am trying to get it to work with my HP Pavilion zd8000 laptop.

I just cannot get it to work, I have checked the USB port with a memory stick and it works fine, maybe I have just have a duff mouse and I need to change, I just wondered if anyone here could sheld some light on if I need to do anything to get it to work? As I am desperate to play some Half Life and don't want to have to wait until tomorrow evening

Tried on another PC?

Does it make the USB connection noise when you plug it in?

I don't have another PC to try it on. No it doesn't make the noise.

Forgot to mention I am running XP

Sounds like you might have a duff mouse. But like Caig321 mentioned you need to try on nother PC to be certain.
