USB or internal card wireless network adaptor for gaming?

I changed to BT Infinity two months ago (seems fast and reliable so far) and started using BT Home Hub instead of Netgear router and I'm now setting up new gaming PC rig. I wondered what's the best way of setting up wireless connection to my BT home hub. I get the impression that external USB adaptors like TP-Link 300Mbps Wireless-N USB Adapter (TL-WN821N) are best and work well with BT Home Hub. Internal adaptor would seem to be better as it's directly connected to motherboard. But I've heard that internal wireless adaptors suffer from limited range and interference problems caused by the PC they are fitted into. Is USB better than internal card type? Will the TP-Link USB work OK with BT home hub? Anyone got any useful suggestions?

Agree on use of homeplugs, just so much better than wireless. I would recommend to shop around though as can Get ZyXEL ones fo half the price of the above!

Been using wifi with pci card for about ten years and never had any problems with it pc is upstairs and other side of house from router about 7 or 8 metres away, as said above though you can get varying results with wifi and homeplugs depending on the house.
