USB Oscilloscopes

Has anyone experience of cheap USB Oscilloscopes?

I just pick this one at random for £20.

I'll be keeping an eye on this just out of interest. Things sure have changes from when I was a lad.

The one you chose at random as an example has "measurable frequency 0 to 3khz". Not terribly useful for much. I'm sure there will be more expensive ones with greater bandwith. I wonder how high a frequency they can accurately measure given the limitations of usb?

But a toy scope as a hobby tool could be fun. I had not noticed the 3kHz limit. That's useless. 30K would have been fine - audio use only.

But would I need to see muck higher up?

Tektronix. Proper scope that was. When I was a lad, we blah, blah...

I did a quick google. 100mhz bandwidth on usb2. No price though. http://www.cleverscope.com/ I'm sure it will be priced way out of the pocket of a novelty gizmo toy.
