Hi all,

Just bought a USB to 36-pin centronics cable for my old Epson printer - but can't get anything printed with it.

The driver disc says no files are needed under Windows 2000 (as is fairly usual for USB-related stuff), but I'm at a loss of how to add such a port. Supposedly it should have been detected as soon as I plugged it in. Tried a reboot and scan for hardware changes in device manager - nada.

I've now disabled the parallel port in BIOS, and tried creating a new port under the printer's settings - but I can't specify any details about the port. Sending anything to print goes nowhere.

Been digging through Google for half an hour with no success, does anyone use such a cable without trouble?

Cheers

Edit: Gah, turns out its a dodgy USB port from the mobo, tried in another one and the virtual port's been installed! Lock or delete mods please.
