Usb port on Sky + box

Just had sky + installed anyone know what the usb port on the front of the box under the flap next to the card slot is for?
There is no memtion of it in the manual.

To update it's firmware vir PC or for the use of a mouse/ fault finding software at a guess.

isn't there ausb port on the rear as well. so it has 2 usb ports?

Not looked at the back yet. The installer only pulled the minimum amount of cable through the wall to the box so it is hard to move it. Will have to sort that out at a later date.

No chance of that. Sky+ boxes store the encrypted feed, so you can only view the content through the box itself. Otherwise what would stop you just pulling stuff off the box?

Its probably possible to view the Sky+ HDD through the USB port.

actually you can get stuff off the hard drive and view it, but not through the USB port
