Just trying to fix a friends laptop anyhoo the USB ports don't work so I look in the device manager and they are installed OK. Check the bios no mention of them in there. So I use a Live UBUNTU DVD but they still don't work WTF ??
It's a HP7000 laptop ?? any suggestions.
(incidentally it has Windows 8 on it, I didn't do it ? and I had to refresh it after the Ubuntu affair as I had a go at installing one on the programs on the CD, I didn't think it would overwrite windows but it did seem too !)
