USB Ports

I put this thread in the Windows Section of the forums, too, because I thought it was caused by Windows7, after formatting the HDD i really don't have a clue what's causing it.
I have a wireless USB stick (Netgear WG111v3) and occasionally when I am connected to the internet, it will just disconnect. Everyone else on the network is fine, it's just me.
When it disconects the light on the usb pen goes off, and if I unplug it and then plug it back in it will not come on. The windows wireless network finder will crash and will not work. The other USB ports all continue to work fine, and if i plug the wireless pen into another port nothing will happen with it, and the problem will continue. The only way I can reconnect to the internet is to restart the computer.
When I was using windows XP I never had this problem, but now that I have moved over to 7 its just started popping up.
It seems to happen when there is a lot of data going through one USB port in particular, as it recently started to happen to my ipod.
Could it be a problem with my hardware? Or is it more likely a problem with Windows 7/Drivers.

bit random, at first i thought it was a problem with the Netgear driver but then you said it happened with your ipod.

I would try getting the latest drivers for your motherboard chipset.

I don't think my chipset (Gigabyte GA 73PVM s2) has 64bit drivers, I've looked on the nvidia site for them too but had the same problem.

I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem with the power settings either, since no other USB device has the same problem :( Will have a check though
