Am after connect my Epson SX200 to the network, it sits next to the switch so i'm not fussed about wireless.

I know nothing of print servers (i did have one many moons ago i found in office surplus, but it was parrlelelele, and needing setting up with a roll over cable and never really worked anyway). Whats to know about them. Is a cheap (£15) off the bay worth bothering with? Whats compatibility like? I dont expect the scanner etc to work, just the printer.

The bottom line, before you part with the cash, ensure that you can find some reports that your printer works correctly on a print server..

Getting USB -> Ethernet print servers working on some home printers can be a bit of a mare, I have routers and NAS's with this function, and my Canon printers don't work properly, or are quite unreliable..

I did splash the £42 and got a Belkin USB network Hub. This essentially will connect any USB device over the network to your PC.

It does require client software to be installed on any PC that wants to use it, but it works really really well, especially useful for All-in-one printers.

To the client PC, it sees the devices as if they where connected locally to that PC, so no driver issues ever occur.

It even has special provision for shared devices such as printers where it automatically connects/disconnects the device when it needs it, thus ensures easy sharing..

Surprisingly for a Belkin device , it's worked flawlessly, even on 64 Bit Vista/Win7...
