USB Printer Problem

Just got my ip4200 this morning. Installed the software fine. Told me to connect the printer, so I did. It sat there and didn't do anything, then after 5 mins it said there was nothing found. So... I tried another USB port. As I connected it, something happened and the PC switched off.

So I'm figuring it's some kind of power problem to USB ports? Except, the printer is powered from the mains.

I've just set it up on another machine on my network and guess what... Nothing.

So. Dodgy USB cable? Or dodgy printer? (Not impossible I guess, just a pain!)

I have exactly the same printer. Could well be a dodgy printer by the sounds of things.

Twas the cable supplied that was faulty. Just connected with another one and it worked fine.

Phew... Just the cable to send back then!
