USB problem...help needed!!

i have recently re installed windows xp and everything was working fine, but today i plugged my memory stick into the usb ports on the front and it comes up with a message saying "usb device not recognised" i thin tried the usb's on the back and this was the same and i also trie other usb devices that are plug and play but none of them seem to work in any of the usb ports.

can someone please help???

Are the usb drivers installed.

yea, the mother board drivers are instaled and the usb's were working fine but now i just get that message.

I recently had exactly the same thing, resolved by reinstalling windows....not what u wanted to hear but it fixed my issue...

well, you can do what i did, spend 5 hours trying to fix it then 45 mins reinstalling everything

Did you have a disc with your memory stick , it probably has the drivers on that you need.
The problem sounds like the memory stick, not the computer and if the computer says 'not found', that is because it doesn't recognise it ie. doesnt have the drivers. If you can find a disc for the memory stick, install the drivers off the disc and then try plugging in the memory stick
