Ive bought a usb floppy drive with a card reader, and it detect fine every time when I boot up, but when you press the reset button on the pc, it doesnt detect it untill you either unplug the floopy and plug it back in again, or you have to turn the power off at the psu and turn it back on again...

It happens sometimes with other usb devices I have too.

Why is this happening....

Hey there, I used to have this problem with my keyboard, but it was only once ever few weeks or so. I'm not sure if this will help but if you go to control panel, then system, and then the hardware tab and going into device manager.

From here look for Universal Serial Bus controllers and double click each USB root hub, go to the power management tab and uncheck the box that says "Allow the comptuer to turn off this device to save power". Do this with all the usb root hubs.

This worked for me and I no longer get annoyed at fishing at the back of my computer for the correct usb plug.

I know when its not going to work, when it dosent display in the table thing before windows loads
