usb problem

Guys, can you help me please.

Everytime I boot up the pc one of my usb ports doesnt work, but when I unplug the device connected to it & plug it back in it works fine :confused:

Any ideas???

Ok dont think its the modem, I tried it in my old pc, the modem booted up fine with pc. I have also tried it in a pci usb 2.9 board, same thing happened

I spoke to my friend where this pc came from & he said it might be something to do with the ethernet onboard?? as i know nothing about ethernet can anyone shed some light plz.

I didnt know if it was a settings fault as I pointed out the modem boots fine on my other pc, but like you said, I may have to put up with it

I just had a look in the bios

Power management,
''Power up on PCI device'' I have the modem plugged into the usb 2.0 pci card so I enabled it or there was another part saying ''Wake / power up on EXT. MODEM''

Well if it doesnt work, i willl disable it & enable the other
